Roanoke County, Virginia is seeking an after-school childcare assistant to support children ages 5 through 12 at an assigned location. You will help plan and participate in organized activities and supervise in a safe, engaging environment.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain after hire). Monday to Friday, 1:45–6:00 pm with 21.25 hours per week; background checks will be conducted.
Performs responsible childcare and recreation work in accordance with the program standards for children between the ages of five (5) through twelve (12) at an assigned location. Assists with planning and participating in organized childcare and recreational activities with children. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required : High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Preferred : Some experience working with children in a structured environment.
Certifications/ Licenses
Required : Have and maintain a Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification or obtain same after hire
In accordance with State licensing requirements, m ust be age sixteen(16) or older. Must complete pre-employment training and attend a minimum of 12 hours of childcare related training annually. Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results. Following a conditional offer of employment, must submit to a Tuberculosis test. Must also be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description.
