Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to provide leadership and support in academic, cultural and recreational enrichment for youth in a school setting. Under the supervision of the ASAS-LA Program Coordinator, you will help create a safe, engaging environment that educates, enlightens and inspires students.

Core hours are 2:00 PM – 6:30 PM with potential evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience with students in K-12 settings.
• Ability to work with school staff and community leaders.
• Familiarity with after-school program quality criteria.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents.
• Must meet education requirements (HS diploma or GED, or college study).
• Must pass TB screening and DOJ/FBI Live Scan.
• Physical ability to lead activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in another language is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio.
• Develop relationships with youth, guardians, and staff.
• Communicate attendance data and program progress.
• Prepare supplies and maintain a creative learning environment.
• Facilitate engaging learning experiences.
• Supervise students during activities.
• Maintain professional appearance with stakeholders.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Supervise field trips and events as needed.
• Distribute and track supper/snack per school protocols.
• Maintain program materials and equipment.
• Follow safety standards in all areas.
• Willing to travel for meetings or events.
• Be a team player and assist as needed.
