Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking an energetic Part-Time Program Leader to support after-school programming in Bell Gardens. You will assist in planning and leading the daily activities, ensuring a safe, engaging environment for K-12 students.

Core hours are 2:00 PM to 6:30 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends; hourly pay is $20.50, and prior experience with youth programs is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• Must be able to pass the ASAS-LA Instructional Aide exam or provide related education.
• Must meet health/safety requirements and maintain a positive, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under supervision.
• Maintain 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Monitor attendance data and program progress as part of quality improvement.
• Ensure a safe, engaging learning environment and supervise activities.
