Job summary

On N On Community Child Care in Springfield, MA is seeking an experienced Educator (Group Leader) for the after-school program. The role focuses on supporting children's academic, social, and emotional development through engaging activities and a positive, safe environment.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of relevant experience with school-age children, MA EEC Group Leader qualifications, and certifications in First Aid and CPR.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of verified experience with school-age children.
• Must meet Massachusetts EEC Group Leader qualification requirements.
• Must provide Verification of School Age Work Experience form.
• Must successfully complete all applicable background checks, including the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC).
• Must complete required EEC training and orientation.
• First Aid and CPR certification required or obtained within the applicable timeframe.
• Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise school-age children and maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Organize arts and crafts, games, academic support, and other daily program activities.
• Develop and implement lesson plans in coordination with program supervisors.
• Support students' academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Encourage positive behavior, teamwork, independence, and respectful interactions.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, attendance, and daily routines.
• Supervise students during indoor, outdoor, and school vacation activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and activity areas.
• Communicate student needs, incidents, and concerns to supervisors promptly.
• Collaborate with other educators to ensure consistent classroom practices.
• Follow Massachusetts EEC regulations and company policies.
