Job summary

On N On Community Child Care in Springfield, MA is seeking a dedicated Educator (Group Leader) / 7D Driver for our after-school program. This dual-role combines supervising and engaging school-age children with providing safe student transportation, in a dependable team environment.

The role requires MA EEC licensing readiness, a MA driver’s license, First Aid/CPR, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of verified work experience with school-age children in an EEC-licensed program.
• Must provide a completed Verification of School Age Work Experience form.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required.
• Valid Massachusetts 7D School Pupil Transport Certificate required before receiving an official job offer.
• Applicants without current 7D certification must be willing to obtain it as soon as possible.
• Must successfully complete the Massachusetts EEC Background Record Check (BRC) and applicable transportation background checks.
• Must meet applicable Massachusetts EEC qualifications and training requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.
• Strong communication, organizational, and student management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with children, families, and coworkers.
• Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to student safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students and maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate educational, recreational, and enrichment activities.
• Support arts and crafts, games, and other daily program activities.
• Assist with lesson planning and daily program schedules.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, attendance, and daily routines.
• Supervise students during indoor, outdoor, and school vacation activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe classrooms and activity areas.
• Collaborate with educators and supervisors to address student needs.
• Follow Massachusetts EEC regulations and company policies.
• Safely transport students between schools, program locations, and other authorized destinations.
• Follow assigned transportation routes and schedules.
• Maintain student safety and appropriate behavior during transportation.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Follow Massachusetts 7D transportation regulations and company safety procedures.
• Complete required transportation records and reports.
• Communicate transportation issues or student concerns to supervisors.
• Attend required driver training and safety meetings.
• Maintain all required driving qualifications and certifications.
