YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Counselor II to provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging care experience for children aged 5-12. You will mentor and role model, guiding youth through recreational, educational, and character-building activities.

You will foster social skills, build confidence, and help children create lasting memories while collaborating with families and staff in a supportive YMCA environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet minimum qualifications for Lead Teacher as defined by VA DOE.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Lead and assist in delivering a diverse range of activities including sports, arts, STEM.
• Manage groups and promote teamwork and positive relationships.
