Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking is seeking enthusiastic part-time Chef Instructors in the North Boulder area to help us cultivate curiosity in kids through hands-on cooking classes.

Classes run weekdays 2-5 PM, with an urgent need on Tuesdays. Candidates should have experience with kids and be reliable, punctual, and able to drive. A ServSafe certification is preferred and fingerprint background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Punctual and reliable with the ability to manage groups of 8-14 kids.
• Must arrive on campus 20–30 minutes prior to class time and have a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hands-On Cooking Classes for kids, teaching safe food handling and recipes.
• Spark creativity by introducing new ingredients and cuisines.
• Stay organized with provided curricula, shop for ingredients, and set up learning spaces.
• Be the Face of Fun by encouraging confidence in the kitchen.

Sticky Fingers Cooking is looking for enthusiastic part-time Chef Instructors in the North Boulder area to help us Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids!
This position offeres multiple Tuesday Sessions, Wednesdays and Thursdays available starting in October.

If you're passionate about cooking, have experience working with kids, and are looking for a fun, flexible, and meaningful part-time job, we want to meet you! Applications will be accepted until October 2nd. The urgent need is on Tuesdays.

What You'll Do

• Lead Hands-On Cooking Classes: Teach kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy, exciting recipes from around the world.
• Spark Creativity: Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Stay Organized: Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up fun, safe kitchen environments.
• Be the Face of Fun: Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.

Who You Are

• Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus 90+ mins) at least 2 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays- Thursdays.
• Experienced in working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-14 kids. Must arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Varies per school.
• Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 4-12 weeks.
• Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Lift up to 30 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive.

  • Accrued Leave: Up to 48 hours of paid leave per year, for use of a variety of health- and safety-purposes, which employees "earn" at a rate of 1 hour of leave for 30 hours worked.
  • Public Health Emergency (PHE) Leave: Up to 80 hours of PHE-related leave when a PHE is declared.

A Day in the Life

As a Sticky Fingers Cooking instructor, you'll travel to different schools in your area to bring "the kitchen" to kids. Using our tried-and-true recipes, you'll teach them essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish-all while fostering creativity and confidence. From slicing and dicing to learning about global cuisines, kids will have a blast in your classes, and so will you!
