Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking of Northern Colorado is seeking a part-time After School Children's Cooking Teacher to cultivate curiosity in kids through hands-on cooking and nutrition education. Classes are typically held on weekdays between 2–5 PM, with each session lasting 60 minutes and paid at $60 per class, plus food reimbursement.

The role requires experience working with children, punctuality, and the ability to manage groups of 8–14 kids.

Qualifications

• Experience working with kids of various ages.
• Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus 90+ mins) 2–3 days a week between 2–5 PM (Mon–Fri).
• Must arrive on campus 20–30 minutes prior to class.
• Willing to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on cooking classes for kids aged 3–18.
• Spark creativity by introducing new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures.
• Stay organized using provided curricula and shop for fresh ingredients.
• Be the face of fun and inspire kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.

What You'll Do

• Lead Hands‑On Cooking Classes: Teach kids how to chop, mix, measure, and create healthy, exciting recipes from around the world.
• Spark Creativity: Introduce kids to new ingredients, cuisines, and cultures in an engaging, interactive way.
• Stay Organized: Prepare for classes using provided curricula, shop for fresh ingredients, and set up fun, safe kitchen environments.
• Be the Face of Fun: Inspire and encourage kids as they gain confidence in the kitchen.

Who You Are

• Experienced in working with kids of various ages and backgrounds.
• Available to teach 1 hour classes (on campus 90+ mins) AT LEAST 2-3 days a week between 2-5 PM, Mondays- Fridays. Typically chef instructors only teach 1 class/day.
• Punctual, reliable, and comfortable managing groups of 8-14 kids. Must arrive on campus 20-30 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Varies per school.
• Able to commit to teaching sessions that run 4-12 weeks.
• Willing to obtain a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Lift up to 40 lbs to store and transport materials.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive.

  • Accrued Leave: Up to 48 hours of paid leave per year, for use of a variety of health- and safety-purposes, which employees "earn" at a rate of 1 hour of leave for 30 hours worked.
  • Public Health Emergency (PHE) Leave: Up to 80 hours of PHE-related leave when a PHE is declared.

A Day in the Life

As a Sticky Fingers Cooking® instructor, you'll travel to different schools in your area to bring "the kitchen" to kids. Using our tried‑and‑true recipes, you'll teach them essential cooking skills, food safety, and the history and culture behind each dish‑all while fostering creativity and confidence. From slicing and dicing to learning about global cuisines, kids will have a blast in your classes, and so will you!
