Job summary

The role requires supervising activities, maintaining safe play areas, and adhering to quality standards while communicating with parents and staff. Training and compliance with local policies are essential components of this position.

Qualifications

• A standard high school diploma or GED is required.
• Volunteer work or experience with school-age children is required.
• Within the 1st year, complete BASCC Components I and II.
• Within the 1st year, complete My Florida SNP/UDAP/SAP modules (PSP not acceptable).
• At least 10 hours of BASCC training per year is required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Directly supervise or facilitate activities for children.
• Set and maintain appropriate behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
• Provide direct supervision of play areas and activities to ensure safety and quality.
• Participate in evaluating activities and scheduling for children.
• Assist in procuring equipment and cleanup of supplies for planned activities.
• Report incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Provide input on needed program supplies and materials.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with staff and interact with parents.
• Follow safety rules and School Board policies.
