Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Child Care Monitor I to manage the on-site Before and After School Care program at COCONUT CREEK K-8 ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE. You will supervise activities, ensure safety, and support staff in delivering enriching experiences for students.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, prior work with children, and completion of BASCC components or My Florida modules within the first year. Excellent communication with parents is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires standard high school diploma or GED.
• Volunteer work or training with school-age children is required.
• Complete BASCC components I & II within 12 months or the My Florida modules SNP-10, UDAP-5, SAP-5 within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Follow Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Supervise activities and ensure safety and quality of play areas.
• Set positive behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
• Interact with children, parents and staff professionally.
• Prepare, procure and clean up supplies for planned activities.
• Report incidents promptly to supervisor and maintain records.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Florida BASCC modules (SNP-10, UDAP-5, SAP-5)

BASCC training 10 hours/yr
