Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking a Child Care Monitor II to plan and conduct the on-site Before and After School Care program at Virginia Shuman Young Elementary in Fort Lauderdale, FL. You will supervise activities, ensure safety, and promote a enriching, inclusive environment for participating children.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of BASCC components I & II, and annual My Florida training modules (SNP, UDAP, SAP). CPR/First Aid is also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of BASCC Components I & II is required.
• My Florida SNP-10, UDAP-5, and SAP-5 modules are required annually.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Directly supervise activities and ensure age-appropriate experiences for children.
• Set and maintain positive behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
• Provide direct supervision of play areas to ensure safety and quality.
• Participate in planning and evaluating activities and scheduling for children.
• Assist in reporting student incidents and procuring supplies as needed.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with staff and communicate with parents as appropriate.
• Perform duties in accordance with district policies and safety rules.
