Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) in Seattle, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, offers after-school care for children aged 5-12. You will guide a classroom, lead engaging activities, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment for students after school.

The position is part-time, non-exempt, hourly with potential overtime, starting at $22.00/hr and up to $25.30/hr with tenure. Schedule typically Monday–Friday, up to 23 hours weekly during the school year, with possible summer work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or other secondary education.
• Washington DCYF and background check requirements noted after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists and leads in daily curriculum activities for children aged 5–12.
• Models appropriate behavior and supports social and emotional growth.
• Maintains staff-to-child ratio of 1:10 to ensure safety and accountability.
• Collaborates with ARC School-Age Care staff and follows guidance from the ARC School-Age Care Director.
