Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) seeks a School-Age Care Counselor to guide and support a classroom of children ages 5-12 after school at Queen Anne Community Center, Seattle. The role emphasizes active supervision, developmentally appropriate activities, and a safe, inclusive after-school environment with a Mon-Fri schedule of up to 23 hours/week during the school year; summers may be available.

Starting pay is $22.00/hr, with a full range of $22.00-$25.30/hr; the position is non-exempt and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or other secondary education.
• MMR vaccination, TB testing, background check, and Food Worker Card are required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists and leads daily curriculum activities for children ages 5-12.
• Models appropriate behavior and supports social and emotional growth.
• Maintains staff:child ratio to keep children safe and accounted for.
• Collaborates with ARC staff and follows direction from the School-Age Care Director.
