Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) seeks a School-Age Care Lead Counselor for after-school programs at Seattle elementary schools. You will guide a classroom of 5–12-year-olds, implement engaging activities, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Position is part-time, non-exempt, with hours up to 23 per week during the school year and potential for summer work. Starting pay is $23.00/hr, with raises up to $26.45/hr as tenure grows.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of prior experience with school-age children preferred in a licensed program.
• Background checks and health requirements after hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a classroom of children ages 5-12.
• Deliver developmentally appropriate activities and ensure safety.
• Maintain staff:child ratio as much as possible.
• Collaborate with ARC staff and follow direction from the School-Age Care Director.
