Job summary

Associated Recreation Council (ARC) in Seattle, WA is seeking a part-time School-Age Care Counselor to guide a classroom of children ages 5-12 after school, with up to 23 hours per week. Starting pay is $22.00/hr, up to $25.30/hr with experience, and duties include active supervision, developmentally appropriate activities, and ensuring safety.

The role requires 18+, a high school diploma, and DCYF background checks; ARC covers TB tests and fees.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or other secondary education.
• DCYF required: MMR vaccination, TB testing, MERIT background check, and WA Food Worker Card; ARC pays TB fees.

Responsibilities

• Assists and leads daily curriculum activities for children aged 5–12.
• Models appropriate behavior and supports social and emotional growth.
• Maintains staff-to-child ratio of 1:10 to ensure safety and accountability.
• Collaborates with ARC School-Age Care staff and receives guidance from the Director.
