Job summary

Voices Against Violence is seeking a part-time Advocate to respond to after-hour crisis calls. You will provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and shelter coordination for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking, including emergencies and protection orders.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required. High school diploma/GED is required; an associate’s degree in social work or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, advocacy, or working with survivors desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, crisis intervention, interpersonal and collaborative skills while promoting the organization’s core values.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to after-hour hotline calls with crisis intervention and advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
  • Coordinate shelter requests and after-hour emergencies, and assist with law enforcement/hospital calls.
  • Provide information and support for protection orders and liaise with relevant agencies.
  • Work on a part-time schedule and be paid hourly for calls and call-outs.
