Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Clinic Call Specialist to join our team. The Clinic Call Specialist serves as an answering service for contracted clinics and provider offices, communicating with patients, providers, and hospital staff via phone and EMR to relay messages and ensure continuity of care.

The role requires asking clarifying questions, documenting contacts per guidelines, and supporting after-hours operations, referrals, and patient transfers while maintaining strict

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Preference given to candidates with CNA or CMA license or experience as a healthcare receptionist.
• 6+ months experience in the healthcare setting; hospital/acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives all telephone calls outside of clinic hours of operation.
• Documents contacts, notifications, and interactions with callers per established guidelines.
• Serves as Access Center Coordinator when not directly engaged in clinic after-hours call services.
• Communicates with the patient’s provider or clinic via electronic medical charting, telephone, or other established means.
