Job summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking an experienced Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to support the Facility Security Officer in developing, implementing, and maintaining security procedures for a Top Secret-cleared facility in Lexington Park, MD. The role includes personnel security, document control, and insider threat coordination.

The position offers a hybrid schedule with four days on-site at our Lexington Park offices, and eligibility for a compressed work schedule.

Qualifications

• 4 years of experience supporting a NISPOM-compliant security program as an AFSO, CPSO, or in a related security role.
• Experience in Top-Secret possessing facility environments.
• Experience handling NBIS, DISS, and eApp.
• Ability to interpret and implement U.S. Government security policies in an operational environment.
• Current Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Facility Security Officer in administering a security program compliant with NISPOM for a Top Secret-cleared facility.
• Manage personnel security: initiation, processing, and tracking of clearance investigations using NBIS and DISS.
• Review SF-86 submissions and SCI nomination packages for completeness and risk indicators.
• Conduct security briefings and ongoing security education for staff.
• Maintain control and safeguarding of classified information up to Top Secret level.
