Job summary

Hebrew SeniorLife’s Center Communities of Brookline is seeking an Occupancy Specialist to join the Property Management team. You will assist with leasing, initial certifications, annual recertifications, and managing the waiting list in line with HUD, MassHousing and LIHTC guidelines.

The role works with Facilities and staff to support residents, enforce lease terms, and uphold house rules. Strong customer service, organization, and computer skills (Yardi, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are essential.

Qualifications

• College degree and/or 3 years experience in property management.
• Certified Professional of Occupancy Certification or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience with HUD Section 8 Affordable Housing Program and knowledge of HUD, MassHousing and EHOLC regulations and policies preferred.
• Prior LIHTC experience and knowledge of Spectrum regulations and policies preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Yardi software or similar HUD Affordable Housing software is preferred.
• Exceptional organization, customer service, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leasing apartments and meeting occupancy goals.
• Manage waiting list and respond to rental inquiries.
• Complete tenant initial certifications and annual recertifications.
• Coordinate move outs/ins and collaborate with Facilities for turnover.
• Maintain tenant files and ensure compliance with HUD/MassHousing rules.
