Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking candidates for a 3rd shift operator training program in Wells, Maine. This onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 11:30 PM–7:00 AM, with 4–8 weeks of on-the-job training to earn operator certification.

The program targets individuals with little or no machining or assembly experience and offers hands-on instruction with large engine components and precision measurement work. English work instructions apply throughout the process.

Qualifications

• You Must Have High School or GED
• Qualifications We Prefer 1 + years of manufacturing, automotive or related trade experience.
• Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform routine assembly operations on large sections of current engine designs and a variety of similar assemblies.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM).
• Learn to work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve assembly problems and assist in part process development.
• This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities.
• Work instructions are available in English only.
