Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford, CT seeks a Machinist/Fabricator for 2nd shift onsite to prepare, machine, fabricate and finish turbine engine parts from drawings and instructions. You’ll perform bench assembly, braze fabrication, checks, and routine servicing while following procedures to keep equipment running smoothly.

HS diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months in manufacturing or aerospace are required; internal candidates may be prioritized under the union agreement.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months manufacturing /industrial/aerospace experience.

Responsibilities

• Work from operation sheets, drawings, computer generated information, and verbal instructions.
• Obtain specified equipment, tools and gages to machine, fabricate and finish a variety of production turbine engine parts.
• Perform bench assembly and finishing operations as assigned using a variety of handheld tools, power tools, and other equipment to process parts during various stages of manufacturing operations.
• Perform braze fabrication operations such as assembly, sizing, application of braze paste, tape or powder and resistance tack welding.
• Perform light and water checks on brazed honeycomb assemblies and reoperate parts which have been rejected.
• Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions (such as operator’s checklist) for upkeep to ensure equipment operates properly.
• Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor.
