Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) in Mentor, OH is seeking a Weld Repair Engineer focused on weld repair strategy release into TG2 for aerospace components.

You will design tooling, fixtures, and optimized parameters to minimize heat input, cracking, and distortion while maintaining airworthiness. You will interpret complex drawings and specifications, provide hands-on technical support to production, and drive continuous improvement in weld processes, with safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree from an accredited college.
• Ability to interpret OEM repair manuals, FAA regulations, and blueprints.
• Mechanically inclined with ability to evaluate technical and mechanical aspects.
• Experience reading complex drawings and assembly/work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Improve weld department quality by releasing weld strategies prior to TG2 release.
• Collaborate with weld technicians to design improved weld procedures and tooling.
• Control process parameters to maximize repeatability and accuracy.
• Generate work instructions and setup guides for complex repairs.
• Analyze results with leadership and provide technical guidance as needed.
• Review standard work instructions and adjust plans to reduce risk.
