Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to create and modify detailed drawings for aerospace repair/overhaul using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• A degree in the engineering/technology/manufacturing field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• A minimum of six months previous experience with drafting and tooling design.
• Knowledge of, or some exposure to 3D printing.
• Ability to keep up with rapidly changing technology and drafting standards.
• Understanding FEA analysis.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the engineering and production departments to improve documentation, processes, and tool designs.
• Prepare drawings and figures derived from specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches.
• Coordinate with engineering to design fixture/tooling drawings using SolidWorks.
• Produce standardized operation sketches to clearly show repair requirements using 2D AutoCAD.
• Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Organize and maintain computer files, drawings and forms per documentation control procedures.
• Interpret and utilize geometric symbols and feature controls.
• Design and create prototype tooling using a 3D printer and 3D modeling with SolidWorks.
• Utilize 3D scanning technology to measure components for reverse engineering.
