Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) in Mentor, OH, seeks a Welder specializing in TIG to repair and modify turbine engine components for aerospace.

You will weld, fit, braze, and read prints, working with stainless steels, titanium, aluminum, and nickel alloys under supervision. The role includes training through AWS D17.1 aerospace endorsement, on-the-job training, and growing responsibilities as skills improve.

Qualifications

• Technical high school or equivalent trade school completion in a weld curriculum.
• Completion of TIG welding courses and/or a minimum of two years TIG experience.
• AWS welding certification credentials, with AWS D17.1 preference.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions including reading technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Read and interpret written instructions and drawings.
• Complete AWS D17.1 aerospace endorsement certification and OJT requirements.
• Perform TIG welding, weld prep and finishing under supervision, progressing to independent work.
• Inspect welds for quality and compliance with requirements.
• Perform torch brazing and automated TIG welding.
• Use grinders and fixtures to prepare parts for welding.
• Carry out local heat treat and stress relief of weld areas.
• Assemble and fit parts and tubes as required.
• Conduct non-certified welding for shop maintenance or tooling.
