Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for our 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness, support tooling studies, and drive tooling improvements in the aerospace production environment. You will manage tooling inventory, audit tools, and collaborate with tooling engineers and production teams.

You will perform performance testing, analyze results, resolve tooling issues, and help install new tooling projects while upholding Saab's core values of Trust, Drive,

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing preferred.
• Tooling selection/application experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and ability to operate machining/measurement equipment.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and providing countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain tools within each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and assist installation of tooling projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
• Work extended hours and weekends when required.
