Saab West Lafayette in Indiana seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for third shift to ensure tooling readiness and drive improvements in tooling and manufacturing technology. You will bridge tooling engineering and production, supporting studies, testing, and compliant tool usage.

The role emphasizes independent work and teamwork, with duties spanning tool audits, performance testing, and involvement in capital tooling projects, all within a people-first culture and aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM is required or 2+ years of comparable work experience.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly experience in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and performance testing capabilities.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues and implementing countermeasures.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and understanding of aerospace quality regs.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions/designs and contribute to capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
