Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Test Technician to perform aerospace product testing to ensure drawings and procedures are followed. You'll conduct electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental and functional tests to verify compliance.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in aerospace/defense manufacturing, a high school diploma, and the ability to read drawings and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Must have Lawful U.S. Person status (ITAR restrictions).
• Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act for all employees.
• Able to read and write legibly and perform basic math operations.
• Able to read and interpret technical documents including drawings and work instructions.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of recording data and familiarity with data acquisition equipment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Work to established test technician schedule to support product delivery requirements.
• Establish work priorities to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Monitor performance to ensure timely execution of tasks.
• Read and understand drawings and acceptance test procedures to ensure conformance.
• Use gauges within calibration limits per standard procedures.
• Operate functional test equipment, environmental chambers, gas lines, electronics, leak detectors and vibration equipment.
• Collaborate with other departments and customers to address concerns.
