Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) in Downers Grove, Illinois, is seeking a Test Technician to perform electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental, and destructive functional tests on aerospace products to ensure compliance with drawings and procedures.
The role requires a High School diploma and at least three years of related aerospace/defense manufacturing experience, with ITAR compliance and explosives eligibility as mandatory prerequisites.

CED's current salary range for this role is $28.00 - $37.25/ hour. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
The Test Technician is responsible for the testing of aerospace products to ensure compliance with drawing and procedural requirements. Types of tests include electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental (mainly temperature, vibration) and destructive functional testing.

High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of three years of directly related experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment.
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves standing and walking throughout the workday. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, pressurized pneumatic or hydraulic lines, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, parts at high and low temperatures, risk of electrical shock and explosion. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
