Chemring Energetic Devices Inc. in Downers Grove, IL is seeking an Initiator Assembly Technician to assemble small electro-explosive initiators on the production floor using standardized procedures.

Duties include laser engraving, epoxy potting, weighing, loading, crimping, welding and reaming with hand tools and precision measuring devices. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to follow complex work instructions and drawings, and strict adherence to safety and ITAR

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to possess explosives under applicable law (ITAR/Safe Explosives Act).
• Experience following precise work instructions, drawings, and procedures.
• Able to handle small, detailed parts with steady hands and accuracy.
• Strict adherence to PPE, safety and quality requirements.
• Read and follow written and verbal instructions with care.

Responsibilities

• Assemble small electro-explosive initiators on the production floor using standard procedures.
• Perform tasks such as laser engraving, epoxy potting, weighing, loading, crimping, welding and reaming.
• Operate hand tools and measurement/test devices with precision.
• Maintain quality and accurate record keeping; follow work instructions and drawings.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies; support other duties as needed.
