Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Test Technician to perform aerospace product testing to ensure drawings and procedures are followed. You'll conduct electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental and functional tests to verify compliance.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in aerospace/defense manufacturing, a high school diploma, and the ability to read drawings and work instructions.

Qualifications

• Must have Lawful U.S. Person status (ITAR restrictions).
• Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act for all employees.
• Able to read and write legibly and perform basic math operations.
• Able to read and interpret technical documents including drawings and work instructions.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of recording data and familiarity with data acquisition equipment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks independently.

CED's current salary range for this role is $28.00 - $37.25/ hour. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but Not Limited To Education, Skills, Experience, Proficiency, Performance, shift, location and geography.

In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.

JOB SUMMARY

Test Technician is responsible for the testing of aerospace products to ensure compliance with drawing and procedural requirements.

Types of tests include electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental (mainly temperature, vibration) and destructive functional testing.

Minimum of three years of directly related experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment.

• Professional verbal and written communication skill.
• Working knowledge of recording data and familiarity with data acquisition equipment.
• Exceptional attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and ability to independently perform multiple assignments.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves standing and walking throughout the workday. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, pressurized pneumatic or hydraulic lines, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, parts at high and low temperatures, risk of electrical shock and explosion. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
