Job summary

Chemring Energetic Devices (CED) in Downers Grove, Illinois, is seeking a Test Technician to perform electrical, mechanical, leakage, environmental, and destructive functional tests on aerospace products to ensure compliance with drawings and procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma and at least three years of related aerospace/defense manufacturing experience, with ITAR compliance and explosives eligibility as mandatory prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Must have ITAR compliance and explosives eligibility as required by ATF.
• Able to read and interpret technical documents including drawings and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and data acquisition familiarity.
• Proficient in using gauges within calibration limits and multiple test equipment.
• Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work to established test technician schedules to support product delivery.
• Prioritize tasks to optimize time and resources.
• Monitor performance to ensure timely task execution.
• Read drawings and test procedures for conformance.
• Operate functional test equipment, environmental chambers, gas lines, electronics, leak detectors, and vibration equipment.
• Collaborate with departments and customers to address concerns.
