Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is seeking an early-career Systems Engineer to join the Graphical Flight Plan Server team within Military Avionics Flight Management Applications. You will help design, implement, and verify software for fixed and rotary-wing platforms, contributing to mission-critical avionics used on military aircraft.

You\'ll develop and test requirements, collaborate with an agile team, and mentor peers while expanding your expertise in state-of-the-art flight

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience in design, requirements development, and verification of deliverable software, ideally within a production or consumer-facing environment.
• Experience with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and requirements for fixed and rotary wing platforms as a member of the Graphical Flight Plan Server engineering team.
• Create test cases and procedures to verify software implantation.
• Collaborate with your agile team members on the overall design process for your projects.
• Communicate plans and status on your assigned stories to your agile team members.
• Coordinate with program focused engineering teams to develop the functionality that our military customers around the world require for their missions.
• Champion knowledge sharing, elevating department expertise through both formal training and informal mentoring.
