Collins Aerospace seeks a Senior Systems Engineer in Cedar Rapids to join the Integrated Flight Systems Product Line Engineering group. You will design, integrate, develop, certify and sustain avionics systems across business jets and transport platforms, coordinating with multiple teams in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) at the system level is required.
• Strong understanding of Avionics, aircraft Systems, and Subsystems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Previous experience taking ownership of assigned work, follow through on commitments, and deliver quality results.

Responsibilities

• Complete assignments involving Design and Requirement Developments activities.
• On-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness, and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases)
• Support requirements development, requirements-based testing execution, test script development, execution of scenario-based, robustness, and unintended function/behavior testing in a lab environment.
• Be responsible for the troubleshooting and reporting of issues resulting from development cycles; the candidate will be capable of providing internal status as well as directly reporting to the OEMs as necessary.
• Test script development and execution
• Independently operate the rig facilities during testing phases of the program and during troubleshooting activities.
• Produce PDR/CDR packages on aircraft features and presenting them to OEMs
• Produce system certification level documentation
• Integrate and own SW/HW Work Packages and Avionics features coordinating across multiple subsystem functional areas.
• Estimate and bid engineering efforts
• Provide regular updates on program status to key stakeholders.
• Ensure traceability and compliance across all phases of the development lifecycle, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers across multiple organizations, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
