Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aerospace Structural Welder for our San Diego, California location. The role involves welding and fabrication across carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized materials for Ground Support Equipment, including repair and new fabrication tasks.

candidates should have 4+ years of welding experience (GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and oxyfuel brazing), be able to read drawings, and meet security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• 4 years' recent welding experience with GTAW, GMAW, SMAW and brazing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and schematics.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and obtain security clearance.
• U.S. Citizenship required for facility credentials and access.

Responsibilities

• Weld and fabricate using carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized pipe and plate.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Advise on metal machining, welding design, and tooling as needed.
• Operate tools and machines to support Ground Support Equipment fabrication and repair.
