Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. in Adelanto, CA seeks a seasoned Fabricator responsible for the complex fabrication of metal parts and welded assemblies, tooling for prototypes and recurring production, and precision layout, machining and assembly.

You will read blueprints, weld to close tolerances, operate lathes, mills, drills, and grinders, and may guide junior staff while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical/trade training, or equivalent, plus 5+ years in fabrication.
• Must read and understand complex blueprints and drawings.
• Minimum 5 years of TIG welding in aircraft industry preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and meet tolerances.
• Ability to work extended hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build tooling for parts and welded assemblies.
• Form sheet metal parts with brake, tube bender, and precision tools.
• Operate mills, lathes, drill presses and grinders for precision work.
• Perform welding and fitting on thin ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Interpret blueprints and set up operations with tolerances.
• Ensure safety and comply with company procedures.
