Job summary

RTX seeks an internship in the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) Department in Tucson, AZ. You will work one-on-one with a senior engineer to perform analyses and tests, deriving loads, running FE analyses, and preparing final documentation for review.

You will learn teamwork within an Integrated Product Team and gain exposure to CAD/Office tools and reporting standards. The role emphasizes hands-on analysis, peer reviews, and presenting results to customers, with mentoring from senior staff

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related (STEM) major and actively
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co‑op session.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS Workbench, Patran, Nastran, or Thermal Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Derive mechanical and thermal loads and environments
• Perform hand calculations for higher order detailed analysis
• Conduct detailed structural or thermal analyses to solve challenging problems
• Perform peer reviews to validate analysis processes and results
• Present results to customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports
