Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ invites motivated students for an internship in the Mechanical Analysis and Test (MA&T) department. You will work with a senior engineer on structural and thermal analyses and generate final documentation.

You must be pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, have 60 credits by start, and experience with ANSYS, Patran, Nastran, or Thermal Desktop. It is an onsite role with DoD clearance prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related (STEM) major and actively involved
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) tools such as ANSYS Workbench, Patran, Nastran, or Thermal Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Derive mechanical and thermal loads and environments
• Perform hand calculations for higher order detailed analysis
• Conduct detailed structural or thermal analyses to solve challenging problems
• Perform peer reviews to validate analysis processes and results
• Present results to customers
• Generate detailed, archival technical reports
