Job summary

RTX offers a full-time co-op in stress engineering, focusing on supporting new product development and certification for cargo handling systems. You will work within a team, performing basic structural analyses with guidance from experienced engineers, and contribute to load development and certification documentation.

You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering, with CAD experience in SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk, or Catia.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering and enrolled through internship.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, Autodesk, Catia or equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that runs May/June–December.
• Work within a team of stress engineers in support of new product development and certification.
• Perform basic structural analysis using classical methods and finite element analysis to demonstrate cargo handling system integrity.
• Support generation of component and aircraft interface loads.
• Develop structural analysis documentation for product certification.
• Support structural testing for product certification.
