Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace seeks a Mechanical Design Engineering Co-op for a full-time, on-site mentorship program running May/June through December. You will support aircraft mechanical cargo systems design, integration, and testing while collaborating with Customer Teams, hardware/software designers, and field engineers.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with CAD software such as NX, Catia, Creo, Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or Autodesk.
• Minimum of 45 hours of credit by the start of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Experience with engineering drawings.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams.
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Support development of aircraft mechanical cargo systems through design, integration and test.
• Collaborate with Customer Teams, Hardware & Software Designers, Test Engineers & Technicians, Supply Chain, Production & Quality, and Field Service Engineers.
• Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design for new products to meet quality standards and objectives.
• Operate CAD software to design components and produce drawings.
• Contribute to technical preparations for new product development and implementation.
