Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk, with paid on-site training through our Aerospace structures academy. Starting hourly rate is $23–$25, plus a $2 shift premium.

Start anticipated early December 2026. Responsibilities include assembling, documenting, and training, with opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure per standardized procedures and requirements.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge.
• Support daily continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specifications.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values.
