Job summary

Davis Machine in Euless, TX seeks a Staff Manufacturing Engineer as the technical liaison to aerospace customers, handling nonconformances, deviation dispositions, and engineering communications with prime and tier‑1 suppliers.

This on‑site, full‑time role reports to the Engineering Manager and focuses on pre‑quotation discipline, risk assessment, and ensuring flowdown requirements are met across drawings, models, and PMI/MBD.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years in aerospace manufacturing engineering with prime or tier-1 experience.
• Authoring and securing nonconformance and deviation dispositions with a prime customer.
• Fluency in engineering drawings, 3D models, GD&T, and PMI/MBD.
• Knowledge of prime supplier portals, forms, and quality flowdown requirements.
• Ability to operate with rigor in a small organization without the procedural infrastructure of a prime.
• US person as defined under ITAR/EAR.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the working link between customer engineering and the Davis engineering group: resolve miscommunication, remove roadblocks, and keep both sides working from the same information
• Prepare and submit formal engineering reports, dispositions, and requests through customer portals in the format each customer requires
• Build the technical case for nonconformance and deviation dispositions with Quality, and carry it through the customer's review
• Review incoming new work for risk, difficulty, and flowdown requirements before it is quoted
• Maintain customer portal access, supplier requirements, and engineering contacts so the company's communication paths do not rest on one person
• Evaluate proposed process, tooling, and software changes on qualified parts against customer requirements before they are implemented
