Job summary

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is seeking a Software Product Manager in Colorado Springs, CO to bridge operational users, government offices, and software teams. You will translate mission needs into a product vision, and manage roadmaps, priorities, and delivery across agile teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating with operators and partners, leading backlog refinement, and ensuring traceability from requirements to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 14+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 12+ years, or a PhD with 9+ years in software product management or related DoD mission areas.
• Experience engaging operational users or customers to identify outcomes and translate into prioritized product requirements, features, or backlog content.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional product teams across product management, software development, systems engineering, test, cybersecurity, acquisition, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or similar Agile tools to manage backlogs, dependencies, decisions, and user feedback.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to brief senior leaders and large audiences.
• Active TS clearance with in-scope T5/SSBI, SCI eligibility, and willingness for polygraph.
• Travel required: 25%.

Responsibilities

• Engage with operators and mission partners to translate needs into a clear product vision and prioritized requirements.
• Develop and refine product roadmaps aligning operational priorities with software increments and milestones.
• Prioritize features and agile backlogs based on mission value, feasibility, risk, and dependencies.
• Create and manage initiatives, epics, features, and tickets in Jira with traceability from problem to deployment.
• Facilitate developer-user engagements, discovery sessions, and design reviews for user-centered delivery.
• Coordinate participation in test events, demonstrations, and release activities to assess usability and readiness.
• Perform high-level requirements, systems analysis, and coordination for software systems.
• Support release planning by aligning priorities with capacity, dependencies, cybersecurity, and fielding considerations.
• Apply DoD, Agile, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices for iterative development.
• Develop presentation materials and strategic communications to tell the user need and product status.
• Adapt to fast-paced environments while delivering quality results.
