Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Software Engineer II to support mission sensors, weapons, and IFF avionics in an onsite role.

You will translate system requirements into robust software solutions within an Agile team, develop and validate with Python, and maintain Ada/C software across lab environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience working within Agile development teams.
• Experience developing software requirements.
• Experience with testing using Python.

Responsibilities

• Support software engineering activities within an Agile development environment, translating requirements into software and verification strategies.
• Develop automated and semi-automated test scripts using Python to validate functionality and performance.
• Update and maintain software using Ada/C.
• Verify software builds in integrated lab environments and support verification events.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine system requirements and designs.
• Present progress to Agile team members and engineering leadership.
• Improve test development processes and ensure compliance with standards.
• Navigate bids and pursuits following Collins processes.
• Mentor junior engineers on software tasks.
