Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to design and implement Agile software across C++, Python, and Ada. You will work with cross-functional teams on military technology initiatives and contribute to early prototype evaluation.

The role requires STEM background with 2+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with Agile processes. Onsite work in Huntsville offers collaboration with engineers across disciplines and ongoing learning

Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
In-depth experience in software architecture, design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada or Python.
Experience in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and evaluate software in C++, Python and/or Ada within the Agile framework.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in planning, design, and development of military technology.
Work closely with cross-functional research teams to evaluate the effectiveness of early software prototypes.
Independently perform multiple tasks with mentorship.
Implement requirements, detailed design, and verification in accordance with software processes.
Meet program schedules and collaborate to make well-informed decisions.
Learn new technologies and contribute to a positive work environment.
