Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its TCMA team in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on leading Agile software engineering activities for avionics software on complex programs.

The successful candidate will guide development efforts, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure certification and process compliance while working onsite in Huntsville.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance after day 1 per government requirements.
• Experience in software architecture, design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada and Python.
• Experience working as Scrum Master or Product Owner in an Agile Software Development environment.
• Engineering Tool experience (JAMA, DOORS, ALM, JIRA, ADA etc.).
• Experience with software development from requirements through verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead Agile software engineering processes within TCMA team.
• Develop and maintain incremental plans to meet milestones.
• Manage team performance against scope, schedule and budget.
• Identify and resolve impediments to productivity.
• Forecast and mitigate risks and communicate with stakeholders.
• Present and support technical discussions internally and externally.
• Ensure compliance with certification requirements.
• Promote and improve processes and best practices.
• Coordinate resource needs between program management and engineering leadership.
