Job summary

Astranis is hiring an SMT Technician to program and validate PCBA assemblies for satellites and ground support equipment. This onsite role at our Northern California facility focuses on SMT processes, troubleshooting line-down events, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to meet development and production deadlines.

You'll develop reflow profiles, program printers, and create AOI and x-ray inspection programs while ensuring quality and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
2+ years of hands-on technician experience in aerospace, automotive, or similar industries.
Ability to read assembly drawings, work instructions and travelers.
Work with cross-functional engineering teams to support new developments.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to document future activities.
Must be onsite 5 days a week.
Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Develop reflow profiles that meet TAL requirements.
Program a paste printer, pick and place machine and jet printer and verify programs are defect free.
Create automated optical inspection (AOI) programs.
Develop selective soldering (SLS) profiles and verify with x-ray inspection.
Support wash, depanel and x-ray inspection processes.
