Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Winston-Salem, NC, seeks an experienced technician to collaborate with engineers to set up and test aircraft seats and furniture, ensuring precision and FAA-compliant results in a fast-paced environment.

You will apply mechanical and manufacturing concepts, interpret drawings, and use hand tools and basic computer skills to support project documentation and testing activities; AA/AS with 6+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up and test aircraft seats and furniture, ensuring high quality and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide technical support to engineers and help streamline project processes.
• Discuss test article setup, procedures and results, improving communication and outcomes.
• Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools to build and set up structural tests per FAA regulations.
• Apply mechanical and manufacturing concepts to maintain precision across the project lifecycle.
• Communicate effectively, with strong written and verbal skills in a collaborative team.
• Support project documentation using basic computer tools and MS Word/Excel.
• Interpret engineering drawings with accuracy to meet design specs.
