Job summary

Collins Aerospace Interiors is seeking an experienced engineer to collaborate with test teams in setting up and evaluating aircraft seats and related furniture. You will support engineers, review test procedures and results, and use hand tools and machining know-how to ensure precise, compliant test setups.

Applicants should have an AA/AS degree with 6+ years in regulated environments, plus skills in 2D/3D modeling, MS Word/Excel, and accurate drawings interpretation.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as aerospace or automotive is preferred.
  • Proven testing and quality assurance experience with a focus on reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to set up and test commercial aircraft seats and furniture in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of tasks.
  • Confer with engineers on test article setup, procedures and results.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with hand tools for building and setup in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Apply mechanical and manufacturing concepts to ensure precision through the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with strong written and oral skills.
  • Support project documentation using basic computer skills and Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Interpret engineering drawings to ensure adherence to design specifications.
