Job summary

ST Engineering MRAS is seeking a proactive Research and Development Engineer in Baltimore to conceive, design, and develop innovative aerospace products from concept through prototype to launch. You will collaborate across product management, manufacturing, testing, quality, and external partners to deliver advanced technologies.

The role suits organized, curious engineers with 3+ years in aerospace design, capable of coordinating multiple workstreams, conducting experiments, and producing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in aerospace mechanical and structural design or equivalent.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous activities, priorities, and workstreams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with mechanical testing and instrumentation.
• Familiarization with composite part design.
• Demonstrated ownership and follow-through.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard tools.
• Export-controlled technology requires U.S. Person status.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and development of new products, components, and technologies from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct research to identify technical solutions and opportunities for innovation.
• Create prototypes, run experiments, and perform testing to validate designs.
• Develop detailed engineering documentation, CAD models, drawings, test plans, and reports.
• Analyze data and iterate designs using engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for feasibility, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.
• Support technology roadmaps and long-term R&D initiatives.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes.
