Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an inspector to perform a broad set of quality and dimensional inspections on jet engine subassemblies and components at an onsite facility in the United States. You will verify conformance to manuals, sheets, and engineering requirements while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires a AA/AS degree with 6+ years in related inspection, maintenance, or machining and the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires AA/AS degree with at least 6 years of experience in jet engine inspection, maintenance, machining, or quality inspection.
• Must be able to qualify and obtain a secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of inspection duties monitoring the vendor repair of engine/module subassemblies and components.
• Verify that repair work conforms to technical manuals, operation sheets, and engineering requirements and does not endanger engine hardware safety.
• Review technical manual data and service repair operation sheets to ensure proper adherence to defined repair processes for sub-assemblies and components.
• Confirm forms, tags, and vendor certifications of conformances with established processes.
• Take measurements during the inspection process.
• Perform visual inspection of tooling, gages and measuring instruments for proper calibration and inspection compliance.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming and outgoing parts for serviceability or reparability.
• Assist in orientating, evaluating and inspecting the work of other employees as needed.
• Review and archive all production and quality control paperwork, inspection reports and certificates.
• Enter various quality control data into the computer database.
